August 2001: We Have Moved!

After spending our first 12 years in the flat on Sillogue Road, we moved to a brand new, purpose built, state-of-the-art premises in axis, Ballymuns new Arts and Community Resource Centre that is designed to cater for a whole range of community based activities.  Axis houses a theatre, café and bar, dance studio, conference centre, exhibition space, training rooms, crèche, and offices for 14 community organisations. The move, which we had spent months preparing for, went relatively smoothly and by the end of August we had begun to settle into our fantastic new offices.

 December 2000:  Major Research Report

In 1998, Ballymun Community Action Programme (CAP) started work on a project aimed at assisting local community groups to participate in the regeneration of Ballymun. A first step was to undertake research into community groups experiences of the regeneration process.

This research took place during 1999 and a summary report was published and circulated in early 2000.The full report was launched at a seminar held on the 9th of December 2000.The Objectives of this Seminar were

To bring the major "players" in Ballymun together (i.e. community groups, statutory agencies, and Ballymun Regeneration Limited)

To inform participants of the findings of CAPs research into community groups experiences to date of the regeneration programme.

To agree a process for moving forward on building consensus among all parties about the future.
