Organisational Development and Management
CAP aims to
pioneer new, effective, inclusive, appropriate and responsive forms
of organisation and management that are consistent with our
community development ethos and changing environment.
Objectives
CAP
is committed to developing new and responsive management structures. Theses
new structures might have a number of different
elements including committees/support groups attached to each
"Theme Area" of work. We have developed such groups around Theme Areas of work over
the last 3 years, i.e. Drugs Policy Working Groups and the
Regeneration Strategy Groups, by inviting members of other
organisations relevant to this work to be part of these groups and
this has worked well.
CAP will continue
to have a core Management Committee, including the Staff Team, to
handle day-to-day decisions and key management tasks including
staffing, terms of employment, staff supervision, etc.
CAP will continue
to ensure adequate participation of local people in our evolving
management structures. Any new structure will remain flexible to the changing needs of the
Programme and the local area.
CAP is committed
to ensuring that ongoing internal and external evaluation remain key
elements of the management of the Programme.
CAP aims to
employ sufficient staff to carry out its Programme and to continue
to develop and promote models of good employment practice.
CAP will continue
to ensure that staff are provided with opportunities for career and
skills development through in-service training as appropriate.
CAP will produce
an "Employment Policy Statement" outlining all areas of
good employment practice and will actively promote its adoption by
other community-based organisations.
CAP will continue
to develop and implement appropriate staff supervision mechanisms.
