CAP aims to respond
to the needs of local groups in order to strengthen them in their
work. We aim to develop new groups or activities as required to
strengthen the voice of the community. We aim to support new people to get involved in their
community. A key aim
locally is to promote social analysis/political analysis in the
area. We also aim to support groups to develop a policy dimension,
based on their experience and practice, to their work.Objectives
CAP will continue
to respond to requests from local groups for developmental support.
CAP
will continue to initiate development activities locally as new
needs arise in the community.
CAP
will continue to provide drop-in administrative services and
facilities to local groups.
CAP
will support new groups becoming established in the area,
particularly those involving the most disadvantaged of the area. In particular, CAP will build the capacity of local groups to
support:

Isolated
People
-
Elderly
-
Volunteerism
CAP
will work to support the provision of Community Leadership training
programmes in the area.
CAP
will ensure that we include a social/political analysis element in
all of our facilitation or training work with local groups.
CAP
will network with the 3 other projects in Ballymun
that are funded under the Department of Social, Community and Family
Affairs Community Development Support Programme in order to build
the profile of community development in the area, i.e.:
CAP
will work to support and inform the Integrated Services Process
(ISP) and to ensure the development of an ISP for Ballymun.
